NIOSH Alert: Preventing Injuries and Deaths from Skid-Steer Loaders
Product Description
The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) requests assistance in preventing injuries and deaths among workers who operate, service, or work near skid-steer loaders. This type of loader is commonly used in agriculture, construction, and general industry for materials handling and excavating. NIOSH studies in the 1990s suggested that employers, supervisors, and workers may not fully appreciate the potential hazards associated with operating or working near skid-steer loaders and they may not follow safe work procedures for controlling these hazards. This Alert describes six deaths involving skid-steer loaders and recommends methods for preventing similar incidents.Product Description

At 1:32 scale, this chunky, solidly built little loader is 4.25 inches long and 3 inches high at the top of the black driver’s cage. The rubber-treaded wheels move easily, and the interchangeable shovel, forklift, and articulated grabber (all included) move up and down smoothly on the piston supports. It’s yellow and black, of course, with the Cat logo in large white letters on its rear end. This is the sort of model that makes you wish you moved large piles of gravel around for a living. –Richard Farr

i got suspended from work for three days and?
the other guy got fired for riding on the back of a pallet jack so we did wrong but the 2 guys who told on us started tell everyone they did it well first off these guys do more dangerouse things then anyone else on there fork lifts and i am the only one who was ever nice to these guys the question is should they have came up to us and say you cant do that next time i will say something or should they have just snitched us out like they did i dont want revenge or any thing like that i have a child to feed and have much bigger problems than worring about these prick telling on everyone so please dont suggest that
there was even 4 people who were going to jump them after work and i talked them out of it because this is not the first time they got some one in trouble or fired for snitching
ok alot of people are missing this i work my tail off at work i do my job and several other peoples job thats why i still have my job and the reason i jumped on the pallet jack was to get back to are work area faster to get more production done so this is not the issue of goofing off its not like we were just driving around because we were board the other guy was a loud mouth and insalted people to there faces even upper managment thats why they chose to fire him
if you read i do not want revenage i know im not in high school no revenge no revenge i think i dsaid that a couple times i just want to do my job
Should I work hard for 10 dollars an hour?
The job I work at wants to raise productivity. So they are cracking down on us workers. They want us to pick orders faster with less mistakes. Work 60 hours a week and never call in or be late. They also made a new rule of no smoking on company property so the only time we can smoke is on lunch break if we leave.(By the way ALOT OF FORKLIFT DRIVERS SMOKE) All of this would be fine but the job only pays 10 dollars an hour. By summer min wage will be 7.50 an hour. So I guess my question is how hard should we work for 10 dollars an hour? I can take a small pay cut and get a much safer job at mcdonalds where i wont have to break my back stacking pallets off a fork lift all day. which is the better option?
